Executive Search & International Recruitment with particular Spain–DACH depth

Akens\Nordburg is an Executive Search and International Recruitment boutique supporting international companies with important hiring decisions, particularly when the profile is difficult to find, has a significant impact on the business or forms part of the development of an organisation. We work from Spain with an international perspective, with particular depth between Spain and Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), and we also undertake selected international search projects when the mandate and our experience fit.

International experience, local market understanding

International searches are rarely a matter of simply transferring a job description from one country to another.

Candidate availability, compensation expectations, seniority levels, the importance of languages, the interpretation of particular titles and the relationship between a local subsidiary and headquarters can all change. A significant part of our work is understanding those differences and translating them into a realistic search strategy.

This is particularly relevant in projects between Spain and the DACH markets, where a position may need to respond to very specific headquarters expectations while also adapting to the reality of the local candidate market.

Spain & DACH

International by scope. DACH-specialist by depth.

A boutique model with senior involvement

Akens\Nordburg operates through a deliberately specialised structure.

Senior involvement is maintained throughout the mandate, from the initial understanding of the need and calibration of the profile through market feedback, candidate assessment and the final decision. This model allows us to maintain continuity throughout the process and work closely with hiring decision-makers both at headquarters and in the local organisation.

From an internally defined profile to the real market

Many searches become difficult not because professionals do not exist, but because the particular combination of requirements reduces the relevant market significantly.

Where the mandate requires it, we therefore work with Market Calibration, Market Mapping and Direct Search. Calibration tests the initial expectation against market reality, mapping helps identify where the relevant experience can be found and Direct Search provides access to professionals who are not actively participating in recruitment processes.

The objective is to base the search on real market information from the beginning and adjust when consistent signals emerge during the process.

Executive Search and specialist recruitment

Our work is concentrated primarily in:

The common denominator is the need to access a candidate market that is not always visible through job advertising or conventional channels and to apply judgement during both the definition and assessment of the mandate.

International Search Projects

Spain is our core market, but our ability to execute searches does not end there. When the mandate, market and our experience fit, we undertake selected international search projects in other European markets.

Examples of assignments include:

Switzerland — Renewable Energy

Specialist searches for wind-energy projects, including Project Development and Environmental Project Management.

Ireland — Finance & Controlling

Business Controller in Dublin for an international group.

Leadership

Akens\Nordburg was founded by Marcelo Scocco after more than fifteen years of experience supporting international companies with recruitment and talent acquisition projects between Spain and the German-speaking world.

His professional background also includes experience within German companies, providing first-hand understanding of both large international organisations and medium-sized businesses, particularly the German Mittelstand. A degree in Economics and an MBA from IE Business School complement this experience with a business and management perspective.

Search begins with people, but a good hiring decision also requires an understanding of the business, the market and the context in which that person will need to operate. That is the approach that guides our work.
