Akens\Nordburg was founded by Marcelo Scocco, whose professional background combines recruitment and talent acquisition, experience within German companies and long-standing work between Spain and the German-speaking markets. This provides direct insight into both large international organisations and medium-sized businesses, particularly the German Mittelstand.

Before founding Akens\Nordburg, Marcelo spent around fifteen years at the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain (AHK Spanien), where he established and developed the Chamber's recruitment services, supporting international companies hiring between Spain and the German-speaking markets.

That experience provided first-hand insight into the challenges that arise when headquarters expectations, local candidate markets and different business cultures need to be aligned. He later founded Akens\Nordburg to develop this work further through a more specialised search model, with greater emphasis on Market Calibration, Market Mapping and Direct Search for leadership and difficult-to-find specialist profiles.

Today, Akens\Nordburg combines experience in Executive Search and International Recruitment, market knowledge, Direct Search and an international business perspective to support clients facing complex hiring decisions. Our experience is particularly deep between Spain and Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), where differences in market conditions, organisation, languages, compensation and candidate expectations can have a significant influence on a search.

A degree in Economics and an MBA from IE Business School complement this background with a business and management perspective. Senior involvement remains a central part of the Akens\Nordburg model, from the initial understanding and calibration of the mandate through market feedback, candidate assessment and the final decision.
