About the Role
Akens\Nordburg is looking for a Managing Director Spain (m/f/d) based in Madrid for the Spanish subsidiary of good stablished German company leader within its sector. The professional will be responsible for P&L, and the strategic and operational management of the company in Spain ensuring sustainable business growth, profitability, and alignment with the company's global vision.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the business strategy in the assigned markets, in alignment with the headquarters in Germany
- Manage and optimize the financial performance of the subsidiary, ensuring the achievement of revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency objectives
- Lead, motivate, and develop the management team and employees, fostering a high performance and committed culture
- Take direct responsibility for sales and lead the commercial team to maximize growth and market penetration
- Drive company growth through the development of new clients, markets, and business opportunities
- Establish and strengthen relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and relevant stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate standards in all operations
- Oversee purchasing, sales, logistics, administration, and finance areas, ensuring a high level of quality and service
- Work closely with the headquarters in Germany to align the subsidiary with the company's global objectives
- Coordinate with the headquarters and other group companies in the region to ensure synergies and strategic alignment.
Requirements
Requirements
Technical or commercial university degree or equivalent qualification
Experience in a global corporate structure, with a strong understanding of cross-cultural collaboration, and experience with European, preferably German, companies
Extensive experience in sales, as well as market development and expansion
Proven experience as a Managing Director or in a senior executive role, with a track record of driving business success and growth
Fluency in Spanish and English; knowledge of German is a plus
Experience in financial management and P&L control
Commercial and negotiation skills to establish and consolidate strategic relationships
Availability to travel frequently
